Steff found a bread machine at a local thrift store for me. Today she taught me how to use it. We did 2 different types of bread in two different ways. The bread on the left is half a loaf (we split it) of cheddar herb cornbread which we made entirely in my machine. The bread on the right is a rustic bread that we made the dough in the machine and then hand shaped and baked in the oven.
I know many people bought bread machines and then tired of them quickly which is why they are easy to find in the thrift stores. The $200 versions are selling for $20 so as long as I make about 5 loaves of bread my investment has paid off. I thought the machine made bread making very simple. The smell was heavenly and I get to control what is in our bread (no preservatives etc.).
And the taste - ooh, baby.
