Let's get started!

I did this digi layout as a trial for this tutorial found on ScrapScene. It took me about 5 minutes. This technique using the clone stamp is super quick and very clever. I had no idea you could just click your way to a masked photo in seconds. And I got to use one of the digital brushes that Joe put in my stocking. Love.

I am really excited about beginning my year of Fearless Living. Already it is guiding me as normally I would have looked at a tutorial and bookmarked it for later when I was more ______
(skilled? brave? awake?) and listened to the gremlins in my head. Today I just did it. And it was easy and a great new skill to have.

In the vein of Grey's Anatomy (See one, Do one, Teach one), I told Joe that I will teach him tonight so he too can be a super cool Photoshop kid.

I am in the midst of a Art Studio Refinement. Joe and I spent hours yesterday in the studio, which needed some adjustments after two year of living with my organizational system, and got about 1/2 of it done. My goals are to:
  1. Refine
  2. Purge
  3. Clean
  4. Refresh
Think a teenager's bedroom - that is what my studio was looking like. So not inspiring. I don't think there were any dirty plates in the dresser drawers (hi, Cassie!) but there was definitely stuff shoved under the furniture (hello, Jarrett!). For now it looks worse than when I began but I know that the end result will be worth it and I need it clean for...

Remember, months ago when I was talking about making a huge dream come true? My dream for the past several years has been about creating an event where a small group of artists can come together for inspiration, education and community. That event, which I named Secret Lake Retreat, is next month. This was inspired by the Lovebombers group. When I read about their annual gathering, I knew that I needed to be part of a group that supported and mentored each other in an unique community building way. I am very excited (and a bit nervous) about getting all this in place and have it happen.

I have a busy day today. What is on your "new start" list?

Your group is such a wonderful idea! I would imagine everyone would feed off of each others creativity.
