Number One
I started out by choosing the three colors that are my least natural choices when painting. Then I chose an accent color of the opposite temperature. Claudine Hellmuth's yummy Studio paints.
Next I painted on color with a brush and then smeared it with my hand ala Kira Harding - watch this video if you are interested in seeing her create a journal page and write in sumi-e ink.
Smeared in some white with my brush and a finger.
Ripped a page out of a thrift store book and adhered it with gel medium (Claudine again). Painted blue circles using a circle template.
Add paint, india ink and cardboard.
Added strips and torn circles from scrapbook paper that was in my scrap bin. No thinking - just grabbed. Layered and layered and layered.
More india ink, smeared with a wet brush, more paint and done.
So... ugly??

Thanks for stopping by my blog! I'm SO hoping I can get back into the habit of writing again.
I love your work; it's the sort of thing I'd love to try but am afraid I'd suck. Donna would be very disappointed in me!
I think it's beautiful! I love the soft paint colors you used!
kinda cool....
