I am home from my Whirlwind Part 2. I am a wee bit tired and a titch run down. Yeah, I am totally wasted and exhausted. But happy.
I did it and I am so glad I did. There were times when discovering little treasures in Joan's things was so touching and warm and sometimes a little bittersweet because we are no longer together. But mostly, it was good to see her handwriting again and feel her heart in all the things that she left behind. There was so much evidence of how fully she loved.
Barbara and I did so much work while we were in VA. I took almost NO pictures. I was just too busy and too tired to bother. Here are a few:
Had lunch with my sweet Cassie. Was SO HARD to say goodbye again. We don't always agree but we always love.
And this is a picture of the gorgeous quilt that Angela made for me. I had no idea she was making me a quilt and I was speechless when I saw it. She picked every square to celebrate my love of all things African. This picture does not begin to do it justice. It is so beautiful. What a gift. I loved getting to spend some time with Ang even though it was short.
Spent some time with Elizabeth. Loved seeing her all settled into her new apartment where she is revelling in her 93 year old independence. Go E!
I am glad to be home. To sleep in my own bed, to be with Joe and Jarrett, and to look forward to several days of recovery where all I do is NEST. Love that.
Barbara M., I miss you!
