Monday morning moanings

TIRED - the time change thing plus carrying suitcases that weighed too much equals feeling like run over by Mac truck.

Here are some pictures to get this started - they are straight out the camera cos I am not opening up Photoshop until I get more neurons firing.

The view from our balcony. The Sheraton Wild Horse Pass Resort is gorgeous. The service was top notch, the food was delicious and the rooms very nice. Spa was very nice though pricey!

First class - READY TO GO. Heidi Swapp's class. She was generous and warm as always.

We got so many compliments on our aprons - the lanyard flowers ended up on headbands - so playful. Everyone is dressed in pink, black and white and all kinds of fun costumey things from pink cowboy hats with tiaras on the brims to feather boas. Dress up for big girls.

The always photogenic Ms Heidi holding the project - an interactive home dec project.

Desert landscaping - so different than east coast land. All new to me but beautiful in it's own right. Barbara, the cactus.

Who says slides are for kids? When it is 105 outside, the pool is even more enticing. It was as warm as bathwater. We were giggling and shrieking like schoolgirls. SPLASH! So much fun. And please - take notice. There is a picture of me in a bathing suit on my blog. I have come miles, people, so many miles.

The most asked question is: would you do it again?

I am still considering my answer to this one. My gut feeling is no. It was wonderful and I am ever so glad I did it. I think, though, I am ready to do other things. I would take a class with Tim Holtz again anytime, anywhere if I had the opportunity. That man lives up to his enormous hype and then some. He was born to teach. He is wildly popular with the ladies, who are drawn to him like honey, despite the fact that his partner was in the room with him assisting. He is charismatic to the nth degree.

The event was great and it was expensive. I find large crowds (600ish) overwhelming. I am happy in the classroom but get me in the main rooms with all those people and it is draining. I like more intimate settings. I like real conversations with small groups. I will probably seek out other venues for classes and new experiences. Smaller, more intimate, and more in the altered, collage, assemblage world than scrapbooking. We only had one traditional class with layouts and I was grateful because I hated the class despite it being sponsored by Basic Grey - my favorite (and the teacher was not good!). I am OVER layouts. Teach me something new!

That is where I stand today. Or lean cos standing takes too much energy! : )
