Quiet day at home

It is a quiet, overcast and rainy day in FL. The temps are about 10 degrees cooler than normal and that is very nice. It is a day that screams stay home and relax and that is exactly what we are doing. It is needed.

Yesterday we went to Orlando to run an errand so we went shopping at a big outdoor mall. Did tons of walking and my several days of taking it easy because I had not been feeling well really showed up. All that walking just whipped my butt. I was nearly weeping by the end of the day - just drag ass tired.

Didn't buy much of anything despite visiting the super JoAnn's where clear stamps were on sale. BIG temptation but after walking around with 2 sets in my hands, I decided that I have plenty (seriously!) at home and I was supposed to living up to my "use what you have" motto so I put them back and walked away with just a simple adhesive purchase.

Watched my weekly dose of SYTYCD and found it interesting with the partner changes. I have already discussed all the ins and outs with a friend (Hi, Alleene!) so I won't bore you with my analysis. Favorites are Will, Joshua, Katee and Chelsie.

I am greatly intrigued and inspired by the color and layering going on in This Blog. Christine has a creative freedom that I do not and I am wildly attracted to this. I have tried a couple of times to duplicate the look of her embellies with absolutely no luck. I am determined to get this. Somewhere there is a "extravagant" switch that is in the OFF position in me. I am on a mission to change that and it ain't coming easy. struggle struggle

Jarrett and I are reading The Shining by Stephen King. It is one of the scariest books I have ever read. I remember just shaking in my boots reading it about 25 years ago. And since Jarrett likes scary movies (especially zombies), I thought this might be a book he would enjoy. Despite being nearly 16, he still enjoys being read to and I am enjoying reading to him. Rainy days are perfect for another chapter!

And need I say it? Mama Mia opens TOMORROW. I will see it Saturday AM at the cheap matinee and CAN'T FREAKIN WAIT.
*
Have a great weekend and please, if you see Mama Mia - tell me what you think!!!

Christine's style is amazing,I haven't had time yet to try a page like that (nor do I think I have enought of the flowers and embelishments) but I would like to try! Glad you had some "down time" today...you needed it!
