Saving my ass(ets)

So, it is just over a week until I hop on Southwest airlines and fly to Nashville for the Scrap Etc Event. I have never been to Nashville before. The event is at the Gaylord OpryLand Hotel - yee haw. I am excited!

The word on the event organizer's blog is to bring an empty BIG bag because the amount of free stuff we are taking home will be obscene. I can do that! Free Stuff is always welcome. And if there is anything I do not personally want there will be a host of people back at home who will gratefully take it off my hands. They are excited about the possibility of cast offs! How much fun will that day be - who wants this??? No fighting, please!

As with most events, there is a considerable amount of homework to do in advance. I have been getting homework assignments since Sept 07. That, my friends, is INTENSE. So let's say that you are a Plan Ahead Patty cos you have been caught at the last minute before and it was ugly cos you just don't roll that way. So, the work has been done and stored on your computer and you ignore all the pop-ups from PhotoShop telling you that you have not backed up in awhile because heck, you are BUSY. And then the computer crashes...

And you lose it all. You haven't backed up since New Year's. You rolled the dice and lost.

So, now that the computer is back up in a very minimalistic state, I reloaded the pics I have and started the homework over. It took all day plus the PhotoShop Elements 6.0 30 day free trial to get me here. But I am glad to report that the whole kit and kaboodle of 96 hand selected and edited photos is uploaded to Costco and ready for pick up tomorrow. Whew.

And now we make some major decisions about the computer in our lives. Oy!

So, for now, my ass is saved and my homework done. I won't get on my soapbox about events and homework because most of you have heard it ALL before.

Thanks for all your checking in and sending love. We are doing okay. And life goes on with incremental improvements in the teenage boy department. And our taxes are finally done! We are on an upswing for sure!
