History

When I went to college in the late 70's, Rumours was one of the largest selling albums ever. Everybody had a copy of it - in vinyl. I played my copy till it had scratches and nearly wore it out.

Stevie Nicks and Lindsay Buckingham are a part of my youth. When I saw an article in Entertainment Weekly written by Diablo Cody (the screenwriter of Juno) listing this Youtube of a Fleetwood Mac reunion number as one of her favorites, I had to see it. I have always longed for Stevie and Lindsay to get back together. They have a chemistry that threatens to ignite whatever stage they occupy. To watch them sing to each other is a bit uncomfortable because it is so intensely personal and filled with emotion. There is a voyeuristic quality that makes you want to look away to give them their privacy.

Sadly, every story does not have a happy ending. Stevie (59) never married or had children. Lindsay (58) is married with a young family. But the lightning between them still strikes strongly. When they appear together, their history is featured as a character center stage. It is poignant and strong. I am still hoping...
