Making progress

Remember the Star Trek movie where Khan says to Capt. Kirk, "Do not challenge me, I have ten times your power!"

I have needed to tap into the strength of Khan this week. There are times when it would be so much easier to do anything rather than fight the fight day in and day out. I fall into bed at night after an hour of mindless TV just to relax, exhausted.

But progress has been made. And actually, it is pretty significant progress. Jarrett is excited about camp (timing is just right since he goes to camp on Sunday - Spring Break next week!) and goes happily to youth group now cos he has made some friends. Big change from I am not going to like this or socialize and you can't make me. He walked out of youth group last night and said, "I had fun". Not sure who was more surprised.

And all week I have been walking Jarrett to his first period class at school. He was skipping it repeatedly cos he hates it. Now I see that he actually goes TO the class. So far, it is working.

Tomorrow there is no school as Spring Break starts. That means I can still be in my robe past 6:30am. Heck, I can even still be IN BED. What a treat.

And next week alone? Don't even get me started!
